Diabetes Group
Brief Description/Aims of the Group:
Since 2001 Investing in Children has been involved in supporting the Paediatric Diabetic Services in County Durham and Darlington to improve the service offered by working in partnership with the children and young people who use it.
There have been a number of pieces of research agreed and completed. Investing in Children continues to facilitate the on-going process of dialogue with children and young people which supports the memberships of the three diabetic clinics and continued service improvement.

Across County Durham and Darlington
Meeting Times and Dates:
Meetings happen on a regular basis, sometimes more frequently depending on the workload of the group.

NEWS update May 2012
The first Peer Mentoring Course is complete, the group renamed the programme - Swings & Roundabouts, Diabetes & You. The next programme will be available in September.
Some young people are involved in a healthy eating 'Cookery 4 Life' course.
The young people are hoping to organise some information events over the summer so watch this space.
