Welsh Assembly
In 2009 Investing in Children started working with Bridgend County Borough Council on a project funded through the Welsh Assembly. We were looking at finding alternatives to the statementing process for children with special educational needs. A team of Project Workers and Young People from IiC travelled across to Cardiff to help run some Agenda Days in March 2010 followed by some Staff Development and Capacity Building sessions in June 2010.
Young people have then run their own Agenda Days in Bridgend and presented thier work to a conference organised by Funky Dragon, the Children and Young People's Assembly for Wales on March 8th 2011. They are also wiorking with local schools and the Inclusion service to try to make inmprovements to the way services are delivered to children with additional needs.
