South of Tyne and Wear NHS Trust
IiC has been working with the South of Tyne and Wear NHS Trust on a number of different projects. In late 2010 we were involved in supporting young people to review the CAMHS provision in Sunderland, Gateshead and South Tyneside. A report with recommendations was completed in November 2010 and submitted as part of the review process. Young people are now involved in the process of commissioning a new service.
Since the beginning of 2011 IiC has been supporting 2 GP practices to carry out Agenda Days with young people to look at what they want in terms of local health care provision. We are working with The Galleries Walk- in Centre in Washington where young people are looking at a drop-in health centre. In Sunderland, Silksworth Medical Centre are also about to carry out Agenda Days to find out what young people want.
In Gateshead the Oxford Terrace Medical Group are working with IiC Project Workers to review their baby clinics and will, at some point in the future, be looking at critical care provision and why children and young people use A&E rather than their local GP service.
